Infamous gangster Gurkirat Singh Ghuggi of Sheron village, lodged in the high security ward of the Central Jail, Goindwal Sahib, injured a security guard and another convict lodged in the jail on Monday.

Sarabjit Singh, Assistant Superintendent Jail, in the complaint to the Goindwal Sahib police, said gangster Gurkirat Singh attacked fellow prisoner Om Parkash lodged in the Ward No. 1. When security guard Ajaib Singh intervened, the gangster attacked him, too.

The Goindwal Sahib police have registered a case under Sections 132 and 221 of the BNS and 42 of the Prison Act.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
