Akal Takht officiating Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh’s advise to SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal put the latter in an uncomfortable situation during the centenary programme of Guru Ka Bagh Morcha, held at historic Gurdwara Guru Ka Bagh at Ghokewali village, around 25 km from here.

While delivering his address, the Jathedar categorically named Sukhbir, also present on the dais, with an advisory to shun the motive of establishing the ‘government’ in the state. He said the Akalis’ focus should be more on the propagation of Sikhism in the interest of Panth.

“What would you do by forming a government or becoming a Chief Minister? Everyone knows the status of a CM in the country?” the Jathedar quipped.

The Jathedar viewed that the survival of SAD could be possible only if the Sikh Panth was strong and prosperous.

In his address, SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the RSS intends to establish its platform in Punjab by penetrating the SGPC, directly or indirectly.
