With the Rangla Punjab Mela underway, a series of cultural and social events are being organised to entertain visitors. Keeping in line with that, a light and sound show was hosted at the Summer Palace of Maharaja Ranjit Singh inside the Rambagh gardens today.

The show, held in collaboration with Department of Tourism and Culture, aimed at promoting the state’s culture. The 20-minute show was launched to depict the history of Sikh gurus, warriors and the significant events that shaped the socio-cultural landscape of the state. Additional Director of the department, Rakesh Popli, said the show would be a permanent feature at the Summer Palace now.

He said “Through this interesting light and sound show, prepared at a cost of Rs 2.76 crore, the bravery, courage and rich heritage of the warriors of Punjab have been presented. An immersive experience has been curated for the audience.” He said they would run more than one show a day, if required. “The show is not just for tourists, but also for locals, especially the younger generations,” he added.
