Road accident snuffs out 30-year-old’s life

A man was killed on the spot on the Patti-Harike road near Kirtowal Kalan village when a speeding Scorpio (SUV) hit a tractor-trolley from the rear here on Friday. The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Jatinder Singh, a resident of New Amritsar.

The deceased, identified as Jatinder Singh, was returning from Harike with his brother-in-law (sister’s husband) Sukhwinder Singh of Kirtowal Kalan village from Harike on a tractor-trolley when the SUV, coming from the Harike side, hit their tractor-trolley near the Kirtowal Kalan bus stop.

Jatinder Singh, who was sitting on the mudguard of the tractor, fell down on the ground who received serious injuries and died on the spot. The SUV driver managed to flee the spot leaving behind his vehicle after the incident. A team of cops from the Harike police station led by ASI Jaswinder Singh reached the spot and took the Scorpio and the tractor-trolley into their custody.
