Taking advantage of fog, two unknown persons decamped with Rs 14 lakh, after breaking open an ATM of the SBI located in Dabourji on main Amritsar-Jalandhar GT Road in the wee hours of Thursday.
The Maqboolpura police have registered a case in this regard while further investigations were under way to identify and arrest the suspects. They had covered their faces before breaking shutters of the ATM. Jaspreet Singh, ACP, said the police was scrutinising the CCTV cameras in the area.According to information, two persons with covered faces broke locks of shutters of the ATM cabin around 3 am. After gaining entry into the cabin, they broke open the ATM with the help of a gas cutter and decamped with Rs 14 lakh.
