Taking advantage of fog, two unknown persons decamped with Rs14 lakh, after breaking open an ATM of the State Bank of India located in Dabourji on main Amritsar-Jalandhar GT Road in the wee hours of Thursday.

They had covered their faces before breaking shutters of the ATM. Jaspreet Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police, said the police was scrutinising the CCTV cameras in the area, besides looking into the role of history-sheeters.
According to information, two persons with covered faces broke locks of shutters of the ATM cabin around 3 am. After gaining entry into the cabin, they broke open the ATM with the help of a gas cutter and decamped with Rs14 lakh.
The ACP said they had some clues about the robbers and they hoped to nab the suspects soon.
