Hoshiarpur, December 13
Four car-borne robbers looted Rs 38,000 from workers of a petrol pump at gunpoint near Khadiyala Sainiyan village on the Hoshiarpur-Tanda road on Thursday night and fled the spot.
The incident occurred during a power cut, due to which there were no customers at the pump.
The Bulowal police reached the spot after getting information. Meanwhile, it is learnt that the miscreants also looted Rs 5,000 from a youth, a resident of nearby Sherpur Pakka village.
Ramesh Singh, the petrol pump manager, told the police that he was present with Uttam and Rahul, the salesmen, at the pump, when a car stopped near him. Occupants of the vehicle came out and one of them pointed a pistol at them, while the others threatened Rahul and Uttam with sharp weapons. Threatening them, the robbers looted Rs 38,000 and escaped from the spot in their vehicle.
The police are checking the footage of CCTV cameras installed outside the pump and at nearby shops and houses.
