Amritsar: A massive demonstration was held by SAD supporters, protesting the FIR registered against Bikram Singh Majithia, outside the office of Police Commissioner here on Friday. The activists burnt the effigies of CM Charanjit Singh Channi, Deputy CM Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and PCC chief Navjot Sidhu. Talbir Singh Gill, candidate of Akali-BSP alliance from South Vidhan Sabha constituency, said Sidhu should remember the day when he was losing in all constituencies and then Bikram Singh Majithia supported him with 23,000 votes from his constituency. Then Sidhu said: “I put my victory at your feet, you are my honour.” Gill said the case on Majithia was politically motivated. He said the Congress government in the state had tried to threaten Majithia because they knew that Majithia “Jarnail of Majha” and Congress would not win a single seat from Khemkaran to Pathankot. He said the massive gathering of people prove that Majithia is still in their hearts and in future the victory of Majithia would be a nail in the coffin of the Congress government. TNS
