The Shiromani Akali Dal (Punsurjiti), along with other Panthic organisations, held a meeting here today to chalk out plans to support Mandeep Singh, the candidate of 'Waris Punjab De' for the Tarn Taran Vidhan Sabha by-election, scheduled for November 11.

Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra, Gurpartap Singh Wadala, Bhai Manjit Singh, Sucha Singh Chhotepur, Satpal Singh Wadali and others senior leaders, while addressing media persons, gave details of the election campaign to be launched in this regard here today.

The leaders said that they have formed around 40 seven-member teams in the constituency in support of Bhai Mandeep Singh for the by-election and plan to reach every house in the constituency to canvass support.

These leaders said that keeping in mind the trend of unity in Sikh politics in state, the Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa should come out in support of Bhai Mandeep Singh. They also demanded that Punjab be declared a state hit by natural disaster for which the party will submit a

memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner tomorrow (Monday).
