Shiromani Akali Dal’s (SAD) IT wing chief, Nachhattar Singh Gill, a resident of Pheloke, has been arrested by the Tarn Taran police on Saturday for obstructing the police officials from performing their duty.

The police stated that Gill, along with 20-25 others, forcibly stopped the CIA Staff Tarn Taran officials and obstructed them from performing their official duties on November 5 at Chabal Chowk.

A case has been registered at Police Station City Tarn Taran under sections 126, 132, 221, 351(1), 62, 304(2), 191(3), 190, and 61(2) of the BNS, based on a complaint filed by Inspector Prabhjit Singh, In-charge of CIA Staff Tarn Taran, on Saturday.

The police further stated that Gill will be produced before the court within 24 hours. Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal condemned the police action, stating that the authorities were allegedly terrorising SAD activists due to political compulsions.
