A seminar was organised at the Majha College for Women here on Friday to mark World AIDS Day (December 1). Educational competitions were held on the occasion.

The Red Ribbon Club of the college organised the seminar which was presided over by college principal Prof Harminder Kaur. Prof Prabhjit Kaur, a teacher of the college, said the theme of the seminar was ‘Take the right path’. Sandeep Singh, Deepika Sharma and Karamjit Kaur, team members from the Ant-Retroviral Therapy (ART) centre from the local Civil Hospital, provided information regarding the reason and prevention of the disease.

The team members said that the ART centre registers and provides care, support and treatment to all PLHIV (People Living with HIV/AIDs) and monitors patients in HIV care regularly.

Prof Prabhjit Kaur said a poster-making competition besides contests in painting and debate were held on the occasion.
