The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has announced its kabaddi team.

SGPC members Kulwant Singh Mannan, Amarjit Singh Bhalaipur and Tejinder Singh Padda released the new jerseys of the kabaddi players.

Mannan said the SGPC had been making continuous efforts to connect the Sikh youth with sports. “The kabaddi players of the SGPC are making great strides every year,” he said. This team will play in the Major League Kabaddi Federation under the supervision of coach Major Singh Saheri. Bhupinder Singh Bhinda Mulewal will head the team, whereas Kuldeep Singh Shikar Machhian and Jarmanjit Singh Balpurian have been made the vice-captains.

The team also includes Amritpal Singh Lambard Mallian, Manpreet Singh Tarpalla, Shani Pratap Singh Dera Baba Nanak, Balraj Singh Balla Kathiala, Lovejit Singh Kuhala, Sukhraj Singh Ratangarh, Jaspinder Singh Jass, Karamjit Singh Lasara, Dharampal Singh Awan, Kuljit Singh Gharachon, Gurpreet Singh Mangu, Gurpreet Singh Mandian, Kamaljit Singh Lambard, Gagandeep Singh Dera Baba Nanak, Lovepreet Singh Gagu, Harmanpreet Singh Rode and Balraj Singh Balla. Along with preparing players through hockey and kabaddi academy, the SGPC is also providing training in Gatka to Sikh youth.
