SGPC member Rajinder Singh Mehta said that if the Chhattisgarh government makes the first move by providing the required land, then the SGPC would construct the college building.

Mehta, who was one of the members of the delegation, said the Chhattisgarh CM has responded in a positive manner.

“There is quite a sizable number of Punjabis living in Chhattisgarh and they have been contributing to the economy of the state. The SGPC, which has been running educational institutions in Punjab and other states, intends to establish a degree and skill development college and Gurmat Sangeet Academy in Raipur. If the Chhattisgarh government agrees to our proposal, it would help in strengthening the social fabric of two states,” he said.
