Notably, two motorcycle-borne miscreants had sprinkled petrol on a three-story clothing shop on Railway Road in Jalalabad on the night of October 8 and 9, thereby reducing the entire stock to ashes.

Beopar Mandal Jalalabad president Babbu Doda said that the traders had warned the police to nab the culprits within two days; otherwise, they would shut their shops.

He said that all the union representatives associated with the Beopar Mandal held a meeting on Friday evening and decided to shut their shops in protest on Saturday.
