Farmer leader Rattan Singh Randhawa said that water had been released from dams in the last three days. He complained that the situation has worsened in the flood-hit villages of Ajnala tehsil.
Randhawa said although people from across Punjab are bringing relief material in large numbers, there are difficulties in ensuring that the help reaches those most in need. To solve this, the Sanyukt Kisan Morcha will immediately set up information and support camps in Mahal Bukhari and Othian villages. These camps will guide and assist groups bringing aid, so that no problems arise in distributing relief material, he added. Randhawa also appealed for aid.
