The city police have arrested a vehicle lifter and a snatcher and recovered three bikes and an e-rickshaw from their possession. They were identified as Shamsher Singh of Dhand village in Tarn Taran and Sona, alias Bagi, of Valtoha in Tarn Taran.

The police said Sona was arrested in connection the snatching of a mobile phone from a local resident, Rajwinder Kaur, in September last year. She alleged that two bike-borne persons had snatched her mobile phone. The police with the help of people had arrested Gurpreet Singh of Valtoha from the spot while Sona had managed to flee. He was currently lodged in Goindwal Sahib jail in an NDPS case. He was brought on production warrant and arrested in the snatching case.

During his interrogation, the police recovered a snatched bike and two other motorcycles stolen from different parts of the city.

Meanwhile, the police have arrested Shamsher Singh of Dhand village for stealing an e-rickshaw from Fateh Singh Colony. According to the police, Balwinder Singh of the locality had lodged a complaint with the police regarding stealing of e-rickshaw from outside his residence two days ago. He had accused Chand Singh and Mani of Dhand village for the same. During the investigation, the police nabbed Shamsher Singh and recovered the e-rickshaw he had hidden in the pond. The police also arrested his accomplice Chand Singh in this regard. They were brought on police remand for further interrogation.
