Speeding car claims life of CHC staffer

The accident occurred when a speeding car hit the motorcyclist head-on. The impact was so severe that the victim’s right leg was severed, and due to excessive bleeding, he succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Arvinder Singh (42), a resident of Sanghna Colony, Bohru (Amritsar). He was on his way to duty at the Community Health Centre, Khemkaran, when the speeding car coming from the opposite direction struck his motorcycle. His right leg was severed on the spot.
Tejbir Singh, brother of the victim, said Arvinder was taken to a private hospital in Amritsar, where doctors declared him dead. After the crash, the car driver fled the scene.
The Bhikhiwind police, led by ASI Jaspal Singh, reached the site and collected evidence. ASI Singh said a case under Sections 106(2), 281 and 324(4) of the BNS has been registered on the statement of the victim’s brother.
