Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori has asked the Health Department to launch a comprehensive campaign to prevent the outbreak of vector-borne diseases during the rainy season. Today, during a meeting with the Civil Surgeon he discussed diseases caused by contaminated water. He instructed the Water Supply and Sanitation Departments to ensure there was no waterlogging or contamination of water due to leakage in supply lines.

Notably, a large number of residents contracted vector-borne diseases (dengue and chikungunya) last year during the monsoon season.
