Tarksheel Society and other like-minded organisations had condemned the war-like situation between both India and Pakistan, stating that it would be detrimental for the economies and general public of both the nations. While strongly protesting against the actions, the members of these organisations have exhorted the common citizens to unite in favour of restoration of peace.

“There is a need to mobilise public democratic organisations and common people,” said Sumeet Singh.

The state committee leaders Sukhwinder Baghpur, Ram Swaran Lakhewali, Jaswinder Phagwara, Joginder Kullewal and Jaswant Mohali strongly protested against the provocative statements made by a section of the media and said governments of the countries should be worried about the worsening economic and political conditions in their respective countries, along with poverty, hunger, unemployment, corruption and corporate loot.

Tarksheel society said there is a need for public, democratic, forward-looking organisations and intellectuals to unite, adding that people should also oppose free trade agreements that create economic slavery.
