Pawan Kumar, a resident of Tarn Taran and an employees of the Indian Air Force (IAF), has won a gold medal in the recently concluded 56th Mr Asian Body Building and Physique Sports Championship held in Indonesia. He ranked third in the 14th South Asian Body Building and Physique Sports Championship 2024 held at Male. The competition was organised by the Body Building Association of Maldives.

Pawan Kumar was attracted toward body-building at a young age as his father Balram Kumar, a retired Patwari, was also a body-builder. He participated in the 90-100 kg category. Kumar said that to be a winner at the world championship was his target and after this win, he felt that he was nearer to achieving his aim. — OC
