On the occasion of International Yoga Day, various events were organised with great enthusiasm across the district on Saturday. A large number of officials and residents actively participated in these events.

The district-level event, led by SDM Arvinderpal Singh, was held at the local Police Lines under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Rahul. The programme was conducted as part of the CM Yogshala initiative. Prominent officials in attendance included Karanbir Singh, SDM Patti; Baljit Singh Bhullar, SP (Headquarters); Jasleen Kaur, District Youth Officer; Jagwinder Singh Lehri, District Education Officer (Elementary); Paramjit Singh, Deputy Education Officer (Secondary); and Kamaljit Singh Aulakh, DSP (Headquarters), among others.

While addressing the gathering, SDM Arvinderpal Singh encouraged the public to make yoga an integral part of their daily routine, emphasising its importance in leading a healthy, long and stress-free life. He added that yoga helps maintain both physical fitness and mental well-being.

In addition to the main event, yoga sessions were also held at various locations including Dr Trehan Park (Patti), Guru Angad Dev Ji Stadium (Khadoor Sahib), Baba Deep Singh School Park (Bhikhiwind), Government Senior Secondary School (Gandiwind), Guru Arjun Dev Ji Stadium (Chohla Sahib), Guru Amar Dev Ji Park (Goindwal Sahib) and Chheena Bidhi Chand Park (Gandiwind).

The Health Department also organised a yoga function at the local Civil Hospital under the supervision of Dr Gurpreet Singh Rai. Various schools across the district also organised yoga sessions to mark the occasion.
