The event aimed to honour distinguished teachers who have made significant contributions to society through their exemplary service.
During his address, Prof HS Walia, president of the Parishad, highlighted the theme of World Techers’ Day 2025 — Recasting Teaching as a Collaborative Profession. He emphasised on raising the status of teachers as per the recommendations of International Labour Organisation (ILO) and UNESCO. He also made fervent appeal to the teachers to make their pupils understand the difference between ‘standard of life’ and ‘standard of living’.
Director of the host school, Chand Pushkarna, while lauding the social initiatives undertaken by the Parishad, encouraged teachers to nurture the hidden talents of their students and work towards their holistic growth.
The event underscored the importance of collaborative efforts to raise the quality of education in the country and the role of an educator in shaping the future of society. Awards of Honour were presented to outstanding educators in recognition of their dedication and commitment to the noble profession.
