With the arrest of three persons, the Ranjit Avenue police have busted a gang involved in selling stolen mobile phones to innocent people. The police recovered 15 cellphones of different brands from their possession.

Those arrested were identified as Sikander Singh, Pawandeep Singh and Varinder Singh, all residents of LIG flats, Housing Board Colony, Ranjit Avenue here. The police said the suspects were arrested from Karampura government school with six mobile phones. They were produced in a court and brought on one-day police remand. During interrogation, the police recovered nine more mobile phones on suspects disclosure.

Proclaimed offender held

After 14 years, the Gate Hakima police have arrested a proclaimed offender wanted in a murder case registered in November 2010. He was identified as Bhupinder Singh, alias Pinda, a resident of Indira Colony, Jhabal Road.
