Jai Pal and Gurjant work at a factory in Bal Kalan village while Sukhraj is employed at a saloon. According to the police, all three were addicts who resorted to snatching to buy drugs.

The police have recovered the mobile phone and a motorcycle that was used in the crime.

Giving details, Assistant Commissioner of Police (North) Maninderpal Singh said complainant Harmeet Singh, a resident of the Gillwali Gate area, was going from Novelty Chowk to Crystal Chowk, on September 10 when three bike-borne persons snatched his mobile phone.

The Civil Lines police station have registered a case in this connection.

Following investigation and scanning of footage of CCTV cameras installed at various crossings and roads, the police identified and arrested the accused, said the ACP.

They were produced in a court and remanded in police custody for further investigation.

He said it was likely that more similar cases would be solved after the interrogation of the accused.
