Today, two drones along with heroin were confiscated from the Amritsar border belt. A DJI AIR 3S drone with a packet containing around 500 gm heroin was seized from Rajatal border village at around 10:55 am. It was found crashed in the fields.

Similarly, another drone DJI Mavic 3 Classic with a packet of heroin weighing around 540 gm was seized from Dhariwal village around 12:20 am, said the BSF authorities.

During winter, when dense fog engulfs the border belt, the Pakistan-based state and non- state actors intensify their attempts to push in drugs and weapons using drones. According to BSF, 90 per cent of smuggling was being done with drones.
