The Bhikhiwind police have arrested two persons on the charge of selling illicit liquor. Officials said a police party led by ASI Gurmeet Singh recovered 40 litres of lahan from the house of Kashmir Singh, a resident of Burchand village. The accused was arrested on the spot.

In the second incident, a police party led by ASI Jaspal Singh recovered 9,770 ML of illicit liquor from Gurwinder Singh, a resident of Sadhra village. He was waiting for customers to sell illicit liquor prepared at home which he had kept in a plastic pot.

Two separate cases under Sections of 61, 1 and 14 of the Excise Act were registered against the accused in this connection.
