Busting yet another trans-border drug module, the city police have confiscated a huge quantity of heroin and a rave party drug from two peddlers.

Methaquolone has been seized for the first time in Amritsar, said police officials, adding that two persons had been arrested in this connection. The contraband was smuggled, using drones, from Pakistan.

Taking to X, Punjab Police DGP Gaurav Yadav, said, "In a major breakthrough, Amritsar Commissionerate of Police busts trans-border narco smuggling and arms cartel and apprehends 2 persons and seizes 3.5 Kg Heroin, 1.5 Kg Methaquolone Powder, 1 Glock 9 MM (Made in Austria) and1 Pistol .32 bore."

Punjab Police is fully committed to eradicating organised crime and creating a safer, drug-free #Punjab for all citizens, he added.
