Un-employed youth climbs atop water tank, protests against govt in Tarn Taran

A member of the Unemployed Joint Front, Punjab, Munish Kumar climbed on a water tank today at the local Civil Hospital to express his anguish against the state government. Other workers of the front also protested against the government near water tank.

As local by-elections are approaching, various organisations struggling against the state government are intensifying their campaign against the Aam Aadmi Party, stressing on fulfilment of their demands. Their leaders say the government was continuously harassing unemployed individuals. They said not a single advertisement for a post was issued during AAP’s three-and-a-half year rule in the state. The leaders said in a recent protest on November 2, the local administration assured them that a meeting would be arranged with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to discuss their demands which turned out to be a lie.

The protesters demanded that an advertisement for the vacant posts of master cadre and lecturer in the Education Department be issued, the absurd condition of 55 per cent mandatory marks should be cancelled and the age limit should be relaxed for the 270 posts of multi-purpose health worker.

On the occasion, Bakshish Singh, Narinder Sharma, Taranvir Singh, Jagrup Singh, Sarabjit Kaur Jawanda and Jatinder Kaur addressed the protesters.
