Vehicle damaged after altercation, 1held

Sultanwind police have arrested a lawyer Bikramjit Singh alias Chand of Shaheed Udham Singh Nagar for allegedly damaging a tempo-traveller two days ago. The case was registered following a complaint by Mandeep Singh of Kot Mit Singh area.

The complainant stated that on February 17, he along with his family members was returning after attending a marriage function and had stopped at a shop near Bularia park for ice-cream. He said that when his wife came out of the tempo-traveller, one of the youths standing there made objectionable remarks. This led to an argument and the accused took the keys of his tempo-traveller.

The accused along with his unknown armed accomplices then damaged the tempo-traveller and a scooter. The police reached the spot and started investigations after registering an FIR. Raids were on to nab the remaining accomplices, the police said.
