The city police have arrested a vehicle lifter and recovered eight two wheelers from his possession. He was identified as Sunil Singh, alias Smati of Anngarh area. He was produced in a court, which sent him to police custody for further interrogation.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Dr Darpan Ahluwalia said the accused was nabbed at a naka. The police seized a stolen scooter from him. He could not produce the documents of the scooter.

During the interrogation, the police seized five scooters and three motorcycles from him. He had stolen the same from different parts of the city. The vehicles would be handed over to the owners after following the procedures, she said. She said more recoveries were likely to be made during investigation.

Meanwhile, the police also arrested two thieves, identified as Jujhar Singh and Manga Singh, both residents of Tarn Taran. The police seized a modified motorcycle rickshaw along with two pairs of iron gates.
