According to the complaint, the ASI initially demanded Rs 50,000, but later settled for Rs 30,000. The complainant had already paid him Rs 16,000 as the first instalment. The officer was caught red-handed while taking the second instalment of Rs 5,000 in the presence of official witnesses during a trap laid by a team of the VB, Amritsar Range.

A case has been registered against the accused.
