The Jandiala police have booked six persons, including a woman, on charges of attempt to murder after they shot at a man over a trifle issue. The victim had a narrow escape in the incident.

Those booked were identified as Harkrishan Singh, Goldy and Karan, all residents of Jandiala, Sonia and Surji of Chatiwind and Shera of Jania village. No arrest has been made till now as the accused are still at large.

Sandeep Singh, victim and resident of Sheikhupura area, told the police that he was standing outside his house when the accused came and started thrashing him without any provocation. He said when his mother went to complain about this to the accused’s mother Sonia, she also beat him up. He said later the accused took out a pistol and fired several gunshots at him, but he narrowly escaped.

A police official said a case has been registered and further investigations are on. Raids were being conducted to nab the suspects.
