The post-mortem of the victim would be conducted tomorrow as her family members wanted registration of an FIR against her in-laws. As it took time to register an FIR, the autopsy could not be conducted today.

In the incident, the woman Sanyogita (35), a resident of Katra Dal Singh area, ended her life by jumping from the top floor of the historic Gurudwara Baba Atal Rai. She had come alone to the shrine. Initially, the police did not find any identity documents from her. The incident occurred at around 9.30 am. The way to the upper floors of the shrine opens for public at around 7.30 am and closes at around 10.30 am.

The family members alleged that they got information that she was missing at around 1pm. They said that around eight days ago, a quarrel had taken place in her family.
