Gagandeep Singh, husband of the victim, said he was married to Rajwinder Kaur around 10 years ago and they have two children from the marriage.

He said he usually remained out of the city for his work. He alleged his mother and elder brother used to harass his wife. He said they used to physically assault her in his absence.
