Over 400 students and 30 faculty members of the engineering department from main and regional campuses of the Guru Nanak Dev University participated in the two-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) and students workshop held in collaboration with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), on Wednesday.

The Directorate of Placement and Career Enhancement at Guru Nanak Dev University hosted the workshop in which two senior TCS officials led the sessions, providing invaluable insights into emerging technologies. Sourav Show, senior consultant, conducted an engaging session on “Data Analytics with Artificial Intelligence and Automation”, offering students and faculty members a deep insight into the transformative role of AI and automation in data analytics. Avtar Singh, GIS and Asset Management Architect, delivered an enlightening session on “Trends in Geographical Information System (GIS)”, shedding light on the latest advancements and applications in GIS technology.

Welcoming the distinguished speakers, Dr Amit Chopra, Director of the Placement and Career Enhancement Cell, emphasised the importance of such industry-academia collaboration in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications. The visiting senior team members also met vice-chancellor Dr Karamjeet Singh. He highlighted GNDU’s commitment to equipping students with the latest industry trends and career opportunities.
