The Health Department organised a workshop under the chairmanship of civil surgeon Dr Kirandeep Kaur. The training workshop was attended by gynaecologists, medical officers and labour room staff nurses.

District Family Welfare Officer Dr Neelam Bhagat and Dr Varun Joshi, the resource persons for the workshop informed the participants about the latest techniques and medical standards required to be maintained at labour rooms.

The civil surgeon said the objective was to further improve medical services during child deliveries to decrease infant and maternal mortality.
