The speaker of the day, Anureet Sharma (a senior school faculty), focused on various critical aspects of children’s well-being. The workshop covered 11 essential modules designed to enhance the physical and mental health of the students, ensuring their holistic development and safety. The key modules discussed included strategies to promote physical fitness and mental health, emphasising the importance of a balanced lifestyle. The techniques to foster positive relationships among students were also covered, encouraging empathy, respect and effective communication. The workshop addressed gender sensitivity, educating one and all on the importance of gender equality and promoting an inclusive and respectful environment. .
Students bag INSPIRE Award OF Merit
Suhana, a student of Bhavans Sl School, has won the INSPIRE award for Merit for the year 2022-23 for district level participation. INSPIRE (Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research) is given by VIGYAN Bharati programme under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Suhana had participated in a district level competition held at Meritorious School, Amritsar, on July 3. She was given the award of Merit for her excellent participation and ideas in building and promoting scientific temperament. Bhavans SL School’s principal Dr Anita Bhalla said Suhana has made the school proud with her achievement.
TREE Plantation Day celebrated
Following the instructions of the Punjab Government and realising the need of the hour, Plantation Day was celebrated today at Government ITI Ranjit Avenue. As many as 100 different types of plants such as mango, neem, kadam, dharek, buchan etc. were planted. The campaign was launched by industrialist of the city Gurjinder Singh Managing Director, Hotel Best Western. He enlightened the students about the importance of trees and said that trees are an important part of our life, currently there is a shortage of trees in Punjab due to which the environment is becoming very polluted and with time we all need more and more. Principal Sanjeev Sharma said that hundreds of saplings have been planted in this institution by the staff and them together and saplings are planted every year and will continue to be planted in the future.
NCC camp begins at Ramtirth
The 2 Punjab Air Squadron NCC, Amritsar, is conducting an annual training camp began at Bhagwan Valmiki Government (ITI) College, Ramtirth, and will continue till July 12. Over 400 NCC cadets from various colleges and schools are participating in the camp organised under the leadership of Captain Manoj Kumar Vats. The CO addressed the cadets on the first day as they will be given drill and theory training for 10 days. Cadets will get an opportunity to visit Wagah Border and Army Campus. Cadets will be exposed to various activities such as skeet shooting, 0.22 firing, tree planting and medicines and cadets will be given an opportunity to participate in various sports.
