Pragatisheel Lekhak Sangh, along with other like-minded social organisations celebrated the 117th birth anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Singh by staging a play and holding a ‘Kavi Darbar’ recently at Virsa Vihar here.

Bhupinder Singh Sandhu, president of Pragatisheel Lekhak Sangh, shedding light on the life of Bhagat Singh said Shaheed-e-Azam and his companions made a meaningful contribution to the freedom struggle of the country. It was due to the sacrifices of such brave martyr’s that all Indians were basking in the glory of freedom today. The stage was moderated by Dharvinder Singh Aulakh, general secretary of the sangh.

Poets Nirmal Kaur Kotla, Amarjit Singh, Surinder Kaur Sarai, Rajpal Sharma, Gurmail Shamnagar, Rashpinder Kaur Gill, Navjot Kaur Bhullar, Harmeet Artist, Jasbir Kaur Jass Sidhana, Sukhbir Singh Bhullar and Balwinder recited their poems.
