More than 500 youth and children enthusiastically participated in the camp and proudly tied turbans. Skilled turban-tying experts guided participants on the proper Sikh way of tying a Dastar and explained its deep spiritual and cultural significance.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer, its youth president, said, "Meri Dastar Meri Shaan (My Turban, My Pride) is not just a campaign, but a movement to awaken the true spirit of Sikhism among our youth." He stated that with Guru Sahib's blessings, this initiative will continue across Punjab to spread the message to every district and village. The Youth Akali Dal is fully committed to preserving the history, heritage and pride of the Sikh Panth.
Shiromani Akali Dal candidate Principal Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa also attended the event as a special guest. She lauded the Youth Akali Dal's efforts under the 'Meri Dastar Meri Shaan' campaign to connect the Sikh youth with the turban and Sikh principles, saying such programmes inspire faith, pride and respect among the younger generation.
Sarabjeet Singh Jhinjer said that the Youth Akali Dal is working not only on the political front, but also on religious and cultural fronts to strengthen the soul of the Sikh community. "The Shiromani Akali Dal has always taken the lead in protecting Sikhism, Gurmat and Punjabi heritage. Walking on the path shown by Guru Sahiban and serving the Panth is our true mission," he said.
Jhinjer expressed the hope that every Sikh youth should be turbaned, disciplined and inspired by Sikh principles to become a role model in society.
