A youth was killed in a road accident on the Chabal-Bhikhiwind road near Panjwar village on the intervening night of Friday and Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Rohit (22), son of Chand Deep Singh, a resident of Mianpur village.

Chand Deep Singh said Rohit, riding a motorcycle, was returning from Muse village when he had a heal-on collision with a four-wheeler (Chhota Hathi).

He was rushed to the local Civil Hospital where the doctors declared him dead. A team of the Chabal police reached the spot after the accident and collected relevant information.

A case under Sections 106 (2), 281 and 324 (2) of the BNS has been registered against the driver of the four-wheeler responsible for the accident. After the accident, he fled the spot leaving behind his vehicle which has been taken into custody by the police. — OC
