He told the police that he along with his son Mandeep and nephew Manpreet Singh was standing outside the house and chatting when two unknown persons with faces covered with cloth landed there. They were travelling on a scooter. He said they stopped their scooter near them and took out a pistol. Before they could understand, the accused shot at his son which hit his chest. He was immediately rushed to hospital while the accused fled the scene.

He suspected that Akashdeep and David Masih were behind the murderous attack on his son. The police have registered a case and launched a probe.

ASI Sarwan Singh, investigating officer, said personal enmity appeared to be behind the incident though investigations were still in progress. He said the doctors operated upon the victim, Mandeep, who was under observation. He said a case on charges of attempt to murder and under sections of the Arms Act was registered in this regard.
