Delhi has been awarded as the best destination for shopping by Lonely Planet Magazine India Travel Awards 2018 at a ceremony held at St. Regis hotel in Mumbai.

Sudhir Sobti, chief manager, Public Relations, Delhi Tourism, received the award during the ceremony among the top industry professionals.

The Lonely Planet Magazine invited the country’s elite travellers to choose their favourite destinations and most favoured travel experiences along with the jury of travel experts and professionals. The readers voted online in large numbers across various categories, to celebrate the best in travel.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
