Ludhiana, October 2

Residents of Ludhiana today held a cycle rally to spread peace and harmony on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi.

It was a joint effort of the Avon Cycle Ltd, Yes bank, Federation of Industrial and Commercial Organisation (FICO), Bicycle Research and Development Organisation, Peddlers Club and Bicycle research and Development Organisation.

More than 100 industrialists along with the politicians and officials from the district administration took part in the rally.

MP Ravneet Singh Bittu; Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana, Ravi Bhagat, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dhrumin Nimbley; Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria; MLA Bharat Bhushan Ashu, other local leaders, police and district government officials also attended the event.

Participants said if residents would adopt cycling, the city would witness decline in pollution.

The residents would be able to maintain a healthy lifestyle this way.
