Ganju is chairman of aeronautical society
Chandigarh, March 30
Ashwagosh Ganju, Director, Snow and Avalanche Study Establishment (SASE), Chandigarh, has been elected as the chairman of the Aeronautical Society of India’s Chandigarh chapter during the society’s annual general body meeting held here today. He takes over from Dr Prateek Kishore from the Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory, who has completed his tenure.
An alumnus of Panjab University, Ganju is instrumental in technology assessment and operationalisation of various airborne systems for the evaluation and mitigation of various disasters related to cryospheric regions in particular. Speaking on the occasion, he stressed upon the need to form specialised clusters to meet the demands of students and encouraging them to take part in the growth of the ever expanding aviation industry.
Jimmy Kansal, a distinguished aeronautical engineer, and presently the project leader of Rotary Unmanned Aerial System at SASE, has been elected as the honorary secretary, while Manish Gupta, a local industrialist, has been elected as the honorary treasurer. — TNS
