Chandigarh, June 13

Haryana has framed a new Ayush policy under which dispensaries and hospitals up to 20 beds would be opened in rural and urban areas, Health Minister Anil Vij said today.

Vij said the policy had been approved by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Under the policy, Ayush dispensaries and hospitals of 10 and 20 beds would be opened in different areas of the state. At present there are a total of 506 Ayush facilities in the state which need to be further improved, he said.

Under this, approval for opening of Ayush dispensary in a rural area having a population of 5,000 in a radius of 6 km would be provided, which would be opened at places adjacent to villages, he said.— TNS
