Mandi, June 25

Residents of Baldwara have demanded direct bus service between Sarkaghat and Delhi via Baldwara tehsil, which comprises of 20 panchayats. The area is also known as Hatli.

Capt Jagdish Verma (retd), President, Honorary Commissioned Officers’ Welfare Association of Himachal Pradesh, said, “A large number of defence personnel belonging to the area work in Delhi from where they fly or board a train to their destination. But no HRTC bus plies on this route. As a result, people have to take connecting buses to Delhi, which causes inconvenience.”

He said a memorandum had been submitted to the divisional manager of the HRTC at Mandi and further action was awaited. He demanded that at least two HRTC buses should ply daily from Sarkaghat to Delhi via Baldwara in addition to the already existing semi-delux bus, which departs from Sarkaghat at 7 pm.
