1st direct Delhi-Washington flight lands in US
Washington: The first direct Air India flight from Delhi to Washington DC landed on Friday at the Dulles International Airport. The flight, AI 103, was accorded a water cannon salute and traditional gate-side prayer ceremony upon its landing at the airport. The 238-seater Boeing 777-200 LR aircraft offers eight seats in first class, 35 in business and 195 in economy class. PTI
Japan rains dampen royal engagement plans
Tokyo: The official announcement of the engagement of Japanese Emperor Akihito's eldest granddaughter Princess Mako has been postponed due to torrential rains. The announcement, scheduled for Saturday, has been pushed to an unconfirmed date, officials of the Imperial Household Agency said. The princess is set to marry 25-year-old legal assistant Kei Komuro. ians
