This photograph was clicked on a monsoon evening in the suburbs of Mumbai. Basu illuminated a termite fungi from the back and its spores began diffracting light. And just like that, a snail — perhaps feeding on the fungi — decided to come into the view, adding another dimension to the image.

The cliff face of Devghali Beach in Maharashtra has a cave accessible only during low tide. After spending a whole night waiting for the Milky Way to come above the cave, Majumder captured this image. A friend posed inside with an LED light to add the silhouette of a human figure.
