Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Friday presented his government’s first budget.

As the Chief Minister has already spoken about taking tough decisions, it is believed that he is likely to take steps in the direction of increasing the income by imposing several cesses and fees.

Also, there are slim chances of the Budget being populist.

The Budget is likley to focus more on primary sector like agriculture, animal husbandry and manufacturing sector.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
