Muktsar: The district police have booked two grocery store owners and a filling station owner for allegedly opening their business establishments in violation of the ban orders issued by the district magistrate. The police said Gurtej Singh and Rajan Kumar, both grocery store owners, and the owner of Kalgidhar Auto Fuel, Thehri village, had been booked under Section 188 of the IPC. Meanwhile, the Kotbhai police have booked a person for allegedly spreading rumours that people don’t have grocery items in their houses. The suspect has been identified as Sukhdeep Singh of Buttar Shrinh village. TNS

16 booked for assaulting cops

Muktsar: The police have booked three persons for allegedly assaulting, abusing and tearing the uniforms of ASI Paramjit Singh and Home Guards jawan Ravinder Kumar. The suspects have been identified as Manga Singh and Sona of Udekaran village. The third suspect is yet to be identified. In a similar case, the police have booked 13 persons for allegedly abusing, threatening and tearing the uniform of ASI Balwinder Singh at Adarsh Nagar on Kotli Road here on Tuesday. TNS
